FAQs

  • Tennessee families lose an estimated $220 million each year due to child care inadequacies (TQEE).

BetterCare helps protect your job productivity, work relationships, and career goals. No other company or government program we’re aware of offers this type of coverage for child care. BetterCare provides on-call babysitters certified in CPR & First Aid, who undergo a comprehensive background check with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation including FBI databases.

Babysitting and nanny agencies don’t offer last-minute care designed specifically for lapses in child care program coverage; this includes a security protocol for releasing children from their child care program, and unique Care packages designed by parents and Caregivers to make school-to-home transitions easy and effective for Caregivers and children.

BetterCare addresses an aspect of the child care crisis in a unique and affordable way. Paying a sitter is a part of life, scrambling to find one doesn’t have to be. And when your child is sent home from school, your work life suffers. We want parents to keep the jobs and careers they’ve worked hard to attain. This is a way we can make child care even more enjoyable. Think of it like child care insurance.

We see parents miss up to three days of work in one week because their child is temporarily biting and sent home from preschool. Parents can’t afford these massive losses in their work life. That’s why some parents are leaving the workforce altogether due to this issue. So BetterCare solves the problems by booking Babysitters for sick care and last-minute child care needs in and around Nashville.

  • To protect your job productivity, work relationships, and career goals, while ensuring continuous care for your child.

Minor, non-contagious conditions frequently cause children to be sent home from daycare or school. This means you use a vacation day, miss meetings with clients, put a double-load on your coworker, upset your boss, and lose valuable time building your career. Examples include: minor ear infections that spike a fever; ear infections being treated but haven’t yet subsided; a classroom is shut down due to another child’s illness (often, COVID); vomiting due to upset stomach but not a stomach bug; biting during transitional phases in daycare, and more. In addition to these instances, there are all the actual sicknesses that truly warrant an at-home day for your child.

No other company or government program we’re aware of offers this type of coverage for child care. BetterCare provides on-call babysitters certified in CPR & First Aid, who undergo a comprehensive background check with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation including FBI databases. Additionally, babysitting and nanny agencies don’t offer last-minute care designed specifically for lapses in childcare program coverage; this includes a security protocol for releasing children from school and unique Care packages designed by parents and Caregivers to make to school-to-home transitions easy and effective for Caregivers and children.

  • Yes. Studies show that 70% of parents suffer a negative impact on their career due to unreliable childcare, including not being able to get coverage when they need it.

BetterCare was created to meet the need parents have for sustainable, reliable child care so their work life stays productive & lucrative. Interruptions, missed meetings, and lost work days create declined productivity and lost revenue.

Without BetterCare not only are you being charged for child care you’re not using, you’re losing the money you would make if you were at your job working. With BetterCare you can keep making money.

  • Caregivers with BetterCare are trained with the purpose of meeting a parent’s need to continue working while making sure their Little Loved One is cared for.

Date night and weekend sitters usually work in those parameters: nights and weekends. You need Monday-Friday, daytime coverage. Also, if you don’t have weekend sitters, BetterCare is a great way to find one. Every time you use BetterCare you get a new Babysitter and your list of qualified candidates grows for weekends and date nights! Babysitters love making a good impression and building their Client list through BetterCare. It’s a win-win for everyone!

  • Because of the niche of this service we understand most parents will ask their Caregiver to pick their child up from school. We can put a carseat in your preschool on your behalf. As a courtesy to Caregivers we direct them toward installation tutorials for that particular car seat. Then, if needed, they can use a car seat they are familiar with—if that is your preference.

BetterCare does not offer transportation services. We connect you to a Caregiver and the terms of the working relationship with your Caregiver are independent of your membership with BetterCare.

The parameters of what you ask your Caregiver to do are yours alone and you are responsible for the safety, legality, and validity of anything your Caregiver may do within those parameters. BetterCare requires a driver’s license for all Caregivers (not for transportation services but to make sure they are able to get to a Client’s home) and we allow the use of the car seats we provide, but this is not intended to offer, guarantee, or recommend transportation services.

The car seat we supply meets the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration requirements and is certified to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
